Fighting Katrina’s Flood Waters
When hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, massive flooding devastated the Gulf coast. Clearly, large numbers of heavy industrial pumps would be needed to move the water out. And they’d have to be robust and reliable enough to handle a cleanup of enormous magnitude.
Fortunately, TMI supplied a number of the rubber components inside the industrial elimination pumps on the job. Their rock-solid performance helped crews remove millions of gallons of water – a critical first step in the recovery and rebuilding efforts.

We can proudly say our custom rubber products are hard at work both around the world and miles away from it. Serving a large number of companies in the aerospace industry, TMI extruded, injection, compression, and transfer molded rubber components are trusted out there where there’s not exactly a corner store to pick up spare parts.
Experiments conducted on the International Space Station were made possible with our components. And when the Space Shuttle brings our astronauts back home, its landing gear relies on rubber seals made by TMI to make sure touchdown goes smoothly.
